Not quite ready to hire a designer? No problem. There are still plenty of things you can do to lay the groundwork for a strong brand. Here are a few simple steps to help you start building your brand with confidence:
Define your brand values. What does your business stand for? What do you care about? Write down 3–5 core values that you want your business to be known for. These will guide everything from your messaging to your customer experience.
Identify your ideal audience. Who are you trying to reach? Be specific! Think about their needs, goals, struggles, and how your business helps solve a problem for them.
Choose 2–3 brand keywords. How do you want your brand to feel? Professional? Playful? Luxurious? Minimal? Pick a few adjectives and use them to help guide your visual and verbal style.
